Buy Now Pay Later (BNPY) Offerings in India

Though 'buy now, pay later' schemes are available in the market in the form of credit cards in India for many years, new concept of BN-PY was around for 5-7 years. First I heard of LazyPay and Simpl from my brother who was using them in Chennai for heavily discounted foods and etc. Then I got to know about Ola Postpaid which offers cashless rides and generate a monthly or 15-day bill to pay the ride charges at one go. The best part of this BN-PY schemes are while you pay later there is no interest charge (similar to credit cards with 30 day bill) but often these are easy to grab (not subject to approval from banks for a credit cards) - so for students or youngsters LazyPay, Simpl, Ola Postpaid were a hit.

E-Commerce: My Latest Encounters

Last year December I put a story that book prices over Flipkart is not the cheapest, while Infibeam & Indiaplaza is offering a way cheaper than Flipkart.

After 4 months, TimesofIndia agrees with me, as they covered a story - Flipkart faces heat of rivals’ discounts. The article says people over India are now more aware to get the cheapest deal online.

Now a days I buy books online, after comparing prices over Indiabookstore.net. From my last some purchases I find that books are cheapest on Homeshop18 (on basis of April-May shopping). While Indiaplaza comes second on pricing, but delivers fast (in 2-4 days)

While to get online comparison of other stuffs (eg: Pendrive, mobile phones, camera etc) I use Google. Well here is a catch, select the model you like to buy and search like this: 'Micromax A73 shop' on Google (India). Google will reveal the product pages of top Indian sites - Naaptol, Saholic, Flipkart, Indiaplaza, Sulekha, Snapdeal, Letsbuy, Homeshop18 and many more.

Infibeam - A Case Study [Siblings & Unique Visitors]

When I posted Flipkart is Cheapest - I mentioned that Infibeam is rising. Now after the consolidation of Flipkart & Letbuy (it is more than just buy-out of Letsbuy by Flipkart), it seems that this move was unavoidable.

Infibeam is not just a single e-commerce site of India. It has many sister sites selling stuffs at a competitive price range.

As you can remember Infibeam has tied up with Ananda Publishers, a part of Anandabazar Group which is one of largest Bengali publishing companies

Flipkart is NOT Cheap, Others Offer Cheaper than it

Flipkart is not that cheap!

When I came to know about Letsbuy.com and its coupons, I find Letsbuy is way cheaper than Flipkart. Later I also find that electronics are cheaper on Letsbuy, even if the product is at same price, Letsbuy is offering some value-for-money gifts (like Nikon P500 gets 16GB memory card on Letsbuy).

But still for books I thought Flipkart gives me ultimate deal. As COD is withdrawn from many cities by Flipkart, it has now no speciality for me.

Worst part is other online sellers are selling books at lower price than Flipkart. I recently mailed to my friends regarding the high pricing by Flipkart with an example of Desperate Dubai Flipkart @Rs 224, Tradus.in @Rs 212, and Infibeam.com @ Rs 179.

1st Online Order from Flipkart, Behind-the-Desk Story of Flipkart

Recenlty I have done my 1st online shopping with Flipkart(FK). It was real good as I got the books within a week in 2 installments. I paid via Cash-On-Delivery (COD). FK use selft-delivery system for books, a person from FK will deliver the books to you and take the payment from you in cash.

Later I order a headphone which is told to be shipped via First Flight. The item will be delivered within 7 days to me.
