Fast Charging - Know Your Tech

I can remember those days when Simoco, an India-grown company brought some large note like phones during those symbian days against loud, large chinese resistive touchscreen phones . The package comes with an extra battery and a charger to charge it outside the phone. Gone those days, Li-Ion or Li-Polymer batteries have been evolved a lot now. The battery technology has improved a lot - from wireless charging to fast charging technology make our digital lives easier.

Fast charging has became a USP for smartphone makers, just like how powerful battery included or camera capabilities or bigger screen or latest chipset. The companies simply promotes how fast the smartphones get charged in minutes or simply says xx Watt charging capacity. 

Working with Acer Aspire 3

On 9th November, 2024 I ordered Acer Aspire 3 laptop (Model no. A324-51) - got delivered on next day. It includes Intel Core i5 1235U processor, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM and weighs just 1.45Kg. 

First impression was superlight, but keyboard look is not sexy, like I used HP 14-S.

Windows 11 Experience - Issues and How to Solve it

This year (2022) I bought a new laptop - HP 14S - running on AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics 2.1GHz, which comes with Windows 11 Home version. 

This article is made to list the issues faced with Windows 11. Back in 2005, I was on Windows XP on my first desktop, when many computer users were still stuck to Windows 98. Windows got smarter but I skipped next generations of Windows, and again back to Windows with Win 7 with new laptop in 2008. Win7 is stable experience on the oldie. But had to move on to a new laptop, as I have transition to Windows 11 in 2022.

How to Check Your Smartphone is NavIC-supported?

I have a brand new Mi 11x Pro and yes it supports dual band GPS - that means it comes with NavIC or Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) support. 

For the uninitiated, GPS - the American satnav (satellite navigation) system was de facto in many devices, and initially it connects over L1 band (single band SatNav) - as a result most Satnav support L1 Band only. Later L2 band was also introduced. L1 band means signals are transmitted over 1575.42 MHz band, while L2 band uses 1227.60 MHz. L2 band was exclusively for the Army. 

Later L5 band (1176.45 MHz) came into consideration to use it as a Satnav carrier. The L5 band has a high bandwidth and transmission capability, which results in greatly improved anti-interference capabilities and noise management. GPS can take you within 20 meters of your target, while NaVIC is more precise — it will take you within five meters of the target.
