Best of Beef Food Joints in Kolkata

Like many Calcuttans, I started my journey into beef dishes from Nizam at Esplanade. But it's sad that Nizam closes its door for beef lovers. Right now they only serve chicken or mutton. The famous beef roll of Nizam is now a history. Nizam was also making Halim during Ramzan days and beef biriyani every day, though biriyani is still not a favorite of mine.

This is the list that I made, and I proudly announce that it is not conclusive. There may be many others across the city, which may be a local legend. So guys keep watching for them and help me to list them all !!! 

✓✓ Zam Zam (near Park Circus) : beef biriyani, beef malai 

✓✓ Bombay Hotel (Zakaria) : beef kebab, bhuna, quema, dalghosht

✓✓ Adam's Kebab Shop (Phears Lane) : kebabs - suta and boti kebabs. They added chicken and mutton too. 

✓✓  Sufia (Zakaria) - nihari (in winter morning)/ khichri (only Friday)

✓ Islamia (Zakaria) - halim (in Ramzan days)

✓✓ Arbi Halim (Zakaria Roadside foodstall) : halim in Ramzan

✓✓ Dilshad Kebabwala (Phears Lane) : kebabs

✓✓ Jahangir (Belgachia) : beef biriyani, kebab and paratha 

✓✓ Yadgar Hotel (Zakaria) : pice hotel with beef items 

✓✓ Asma (Baruipur) : beef bhuna, biriyani, champ

✓ Adil Biriyani (Ballygaunge)

✓ Albela Biriyani (Khidirpur)

✓ Afreen Biriyani (Metiabruz)

✓ Hafiz Hotel (Rajabazar) - biriyani is not great. Halim and Nihari (seasonal) are better.

Nizam, the inventor of kathi rolls, was shut down and reopened with a new management who stopped the beef dishes in this iconic eatery. However in late of 2021 Nizam is back with its beef serving.
