Redmi - Snapdragon 625 Love Story could Derail its Success Run

Xiaomi or its subbrand Redmi is one of my favorite brand for smartphones these days. The main reason is pocket friendly or affordable smartphone with quite good quality. The second reason is its service center is just 4 min walk from my home. There is another reason which most OEM skips - regular software update which is great on Xiaomi phones with regular MIUI updates.

Now recently Xiaomi launched Redmi Y2 in India - to target selfie lovers.

I am using Redmi Note 4 since 1 year and I am happy with its camera and overall performance. But as per their 3rd phone on the series Note 5 is a disappointing launch, rather returning customers would buy Note 5 Pro or better wait.

Why Oppo's RealMe 1 is Big No-No for me?

Launching sub brands by major handset makers has turned a new trend in Indian smartphone market and Chinese giant Oppo could not use this opportunity better by launching Amazon India exclusive Real Me 1 smartphone to take on rival Xiaomi and its sub brand Redmi. The sub brands RealMe and Redmi sound similar right?

But I will never buy any smartphone from Oppo, why?
1. Oppo's Chinese employee is accused of discarding Indian flag at its Noida office.

The following reasons are to discard RealMe 1:
2. It does run on Mediatek processor

3. It runs on ColorOS and seeing the trend of Oppo, it's unsure that when this phone will get latest Android update - not a future proof smartphone.

Tower Companies of India

The article was first published in November 2017, and therefore updated regularly til November 2020.
In March 2024 this post was deleted by Blogger. The reason I don't know. Therefore putting it for a review by Blogger Team.

As Indian telecom sector is going through the merger and acquisition - the consolidation of the mobile operators is pushing the consolidation of the passive infra providers, most specificly the tower firms. Apart from the carrier/operator's own tower companies there are several independent tower and infra providers in the market and these companies depend on the tenancy of the towers by small and mid sized telecom operators. Now as the consolidations are reshaping the market, it's obvious that the tenancy business is not working. And at the same time operators, burnt out by huge debt, plan for renting towers to cut down operational costs.

BSNL's Delayed Entry into 4G Expected to be a Lacklustre Show

Back in 2007 BSNL made some really great move which marked a benchmarking event on India's wired broadband sector - to upgrade to wired broadband speed to 2Mbps minimum in most plans. Though that time was Manmohan Singh's era, many argue that main game was started during Atal Bihari Bajpeyi's time. Whatever the man stood behind BSNL's growth is actually Dayanidhi Maran, who was minister of communications and information technology (22 May '04 - 16 May '07).

When BJP came at the power, I personally thought that it will mark another success story of BSNL - however it is not, rather government is on the way of privatization of government assets like Air India is gonna be sold. BSNL may see the same fate with no proper planning and investment, though ministers keep pressing the bell that that will not happen.

Whatever it happens, the loss making state owned PSU telco - BSNL and MTNL will continue to make losses against the competitive mobile market of Airtel, Jio, Vodafone+Idea.

In February 2018, the telecom minister Manoj Sinha clarified that there is no plan at present to merge these two state owned telco but there will be steps taken to create synergy between two including effective utilisation of human resources as well as land and buildings.

Certificate/Fellowship Courses after MBBS

This article is meant for certificate courses after MBBS. While young medical professionals are running behind post graduation, there is always a need for primary care physicians in India, though Indian laws are sick, people are biggest ass and politicians made people fool that governments do care for them while doctors are not - whole scenario made many doctors to leave this country.

However the certificate courses are very much useful if you're a PCP or want to be updated with latest guidelines. There are a number of such courses - I am sure that I could not list up all but will keep this post updated.

Most of these fellowship/certificate or diploma courses don't accredited by MCI.
